Alright. I know the basics of a DSLR camera and can take decent photos. I know how to manipulate ISO, shutter speed, aperture, etc. to filter in a good amount of light and/or color. But I don't feel satisfied with the quality of my pictures. What to do to get over this discouraging period in my creative journey?

Definitely try to shoot everything at first until you find your style and what excites you about photography. Also try to master programs like lightroom or photoshop, it would definitely help you improve your pictures and you will see all the possibilities that comes with it.
